Our Journey

Ken Bentkowski began his career in the cleaning industry at Coit Victoria from 1980 to 1983. After leaving Coit, he founded SuperKlean, managing it until 1986 when it was bought out by Coit. Although invited back as a manager, Ken chose to pursue new opportunities.

In 1990, Ken moved to Qualicum Beach and started SaniTECH with Peter Eckert’s permission, becoming the first franchisee of the brand. Despite facing challenges in expansion initially, SaniTECH now operates alongside Victoria under the same brand.

Over the years, SaniTECH has explored various services including restoration and duct cleaning. Although some ventures didn’t pan out due to resource limitations and skill gaps, Ken’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to acquire ProVac and a Pringle Vac Truck for duct cleaning.
Ken also ventured into wood floor sanding by purchasing a business that came with a skilled employee who managed equipment while SaniTECH subcontracted work. Unfortunately, health issues forced them to exit that venture as well.

To enhance service offerings, Ken traveled to Florida, San Diego, and Omaha to learn about area rug cleaning. This led to investments in equipment for a full dust and wash system for rugs. Currently, SaniTECH operates with two to three truckmount vans staffed by two technicians plus Ken for emergency cleans and urgent needs.
